NEW GCSE SPECIFICATIONS
« on: April 13, 2015, 09:50:07 PM »
Hi all
I have had a look at the new (awaiting Ofqual approval) AQA A specification which has significant changes. I was wondering what others were thinking of doing in the future with their GCSE offer?
Suggestions would be happily received, my department have mixed feelings.
Thank you

I couldn't find the AQA draft spec when I looked last week... I had a look at the OCR ones and wasn't hugely keen!
Where did you find the AQA draft?

They are all now available online, they were released on April 10th at the GA conference when the boards submitted their offerings to OFQUAL.  There are big changes as a result of the significant changes made to the GCSE criteria.  I'm just beginning to compare them and get my head round the options!

Yes massive changes, not sure what to do for the best?

The implications for workload is pretty overwhelming.  Need to start looking at our KS3 curriculum to start it Sept so we can address all before the GCSE.  A lot to cover and prepare for!

Hi

I have placed Lucy Rawe's excellent table onto my new blog (with her permission), if anyone wants it to compare each GCSE specification.
