I've deleted the link that was posted as Geofiles and Geofactsheets are only for use within the subscribing institution - sharing them here is against copyright rules and potentially compromises the forum.  (And the school that has put copies of them online risks getting themselves into hot water too...)

Do not worry...nobody should be allowed to make money out of education in my opinion.

Dear Ian,

Hope your well, forgive my quick and sweeping statement.

My comment was not meant against any teacher who gained profit for publication. More that schools should not have to pay to access resources that may improve learning. Education is not an industry in my opinion.

So how do publishers manage to publish resources in your utopia where there is no payment for access to resources. How do they pay for paper, printers, offices, staff, energy, writers, images, design, websites, marketing, conferences?

Perhaps when teachers work for free you can expect others to also do so?

I really wish that some teachers would do some joined up thinking.

If you want publishers to be providing high quality resources then it either comes down to some form of state provision ( not very likely these days)  or via private business.

Teachers producing their own resources to share is an even better solution.

But you can't just go around stealing content because of some vague feeling that things should be free and that the kids deserve it.

Try that out in Tesco.

Hi
As I said, I did subscribe to this - I have just lost my copy! Surely there is still a little humanity left in society?!

Hi Geojo

Have you tried the publishers to see if they can send a replacement? Hopefully the least they could do given you have subscribed. That is one of the benefits of the Geofiles which can be downloaded multiple times once subscribed to.
