Two different ways to record TV programmes
« on: December 29, 2012, 10:48:48 AM »
There are so many ways now to record TV (Sky, PVR etc), it should be easy to to show in class, but file compatibility and portability are still issues if the school doesn't have a central management system.

Solution 1 well tested and really useful.  Small USB dongle for a PC. Acts as a PVR (records any freeview programme), can schedule recordings etc. ( best reception needs decent aerial). WinTV stick about £30.

Solution 2. If you have forgotten to record a programme. Although some programmes get uploaded to YouTube, not all do.  With this software you can download programmes from play-again sites to your PC and convert to manageable file sizes. Of course always adhere to copyright issues. Works well for £29.00  http://applian.com/download-videos/

These are common issues in schools and I have used both of these successfully.  No I don't have any commercial links to the suppliers!

Hope this is helpful
