Geological time scale?
« on: October 12, 2012, 09:37:13 PM »
My colleague will be planning the AQA A GCSE topic on rocks and I am sure I have seen a 'geological time scale in a day' thing (could have been an image or animation or website - I can't quite place it in my brain!  Along the lines of, "at midnight 'x' happens, by 3am 'y' has happened".  Can anyone help or suggest something useful?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jn6nT0S2c5U - this is pretty good.  I use it with Year 7 to get them thinking about timescale before starting tectonics

and I have a presentation that I somewhere on this. I'll try to find it and get back to you

Brilliant! Thanks everyone, just what we were looking for. The BGS has some great ideas and resources, will be looking closely at them.
