helicoidal/helical flow - quick question

Basically, are they the same?! Never heard of helical flow, but it's used by Nagle, seemingly interchangeably with helicoidal flow. Googling one mainly gives you the other, so i presume they're the same... ?!?

I'd never heard of helical flow either so had to do some checking.
Thesauraus.com has helical and helicoidal as synonyms (both meaning mean helix or spiral). Checking an online etymology dictionary (as you do!) I found:
Helical - from the Latin 'helicem'
Helicoid - from the Greek 'helikoeid'
