This google person finder thing is very interesting from a new technologies perspective - try putting something simple like James in:

http://japan.person-finder.appspot.com/query?role=seek

Example: http://japan.person-finder.appspot.com/view?first_name=&id=japan.person-finder.appspot.com%2Fperson.2593124&last_name=&query=smith&role=seek

Had a planned a lesson on the Boxing Day Tsunami today, stuck the news on instead as this unfolded. Really shocking stuff.

One of the students remarked "surprised you haven't made a worksheet on it yet!"   ;D

Scary stuff.

We've a supply teacher with us at the moment and his son was in Japan, due to leave tomorrow.  He managed to get a flight out of Osaka at 10am and the latest we heard was that they were refuelling in Seoul and were then heading to Calcutta.
