interactive crash and deaths on UK roads map
would have some relevance somewhere and somehow- would need to be careful if you were to  use it
goes back a number of years

"On average, some seven people are killed every day on the roads in Great Britain. Hundreds more are injured, many of them seriously, often with life changing consequences. In 2008 alone, 2,538 people died and nearly a quarter of a million were injured. In the past 10 years, the death toll has amounted to 32,298."


Every human life is precious and every unexpected loss of life is a tragedy BUT...

...although I count myself as a vaguely intelligent man, I fail to understand why as a nation we are willing to spend millions of pounds (billions of pounds?) on fighting the perceived 'threat' of terrorism and yet we are so accepting of the terrible loss of life on our roads in the UK.  Sad Sad

This data would form a great starting point for some citizenship informed action guerilla geography type event. Where is the nearest black spot to your school? Visit (either real or virtual), collect data, create a proposal and then send it in to the council traffic department.
