What has happened to your Woolworths?
« on: November 09, 2009, 11:06:21 AM »
The closure of Woolworths almost a year ago, changed the face of many high streets as the premises were so large and generally in a prominent location. I have been meaning to post here for months to find out what is happeniong around the country - what is your former Woolworths now?

Stafford - Sports Direct (temporary)

Telford - remains empty

Alnwick - M and Co (formerly McKays)

Dorchester - now Wellworths run by former employees of Woolworths

Newport, Shropshire - B&M stores

Beccles - QD

Lowestoft - QD

Norwich - hmm, think it's partly empty - it was a big one down by the Riverside. The old one became the front entrance for Chapelfield anyway.

Ipswich - empty (according to my year 11 - like, I never go to Ipswich...)

Woodbridge - empty (as above...)
I loved the words you wrote to me/But that was bloody yesterday
