Hello,
Advance warning of a post that will be advertised in TES a week on Friday. Full time, permanent geographer wanted. Position made available due to retirement of outstanding teacher.
Department of 3, 11-16 school, Humanities Specialism, We also have the SGQM, I am a Chartered Geographer and we were rated Outstanding in our subject inspection in all areas. School is high achieving 77% A*-C INCLUDING English and Maths. Geography averages 91% A*-C and 45% A*/A.

I need someone (who in addition to regular teaching things...)
- will contribute to the specialist status work e.g. network meetings, primary work, community cohesion.
- Will contribute to the department's extra curricular work e.g. assist with D of E, run a lunchtime club.
- will ensure the department's continuing success by taking responsibility for aspects of the dept e.g. want to develop schemes of work, will bring their own ideas.
- Is interested in helping to deliver other courses e.g. the geography element of humanities GCSE, BTEC travel and tourism.
- who is creative, dynamic and quite frankly outstanding! (Shirkers need not apply!!!!)

Not asking for much eh?! Great place to start a career and move on after a couple of years. Would also be a great job for someone with maybe 3 years experience who is looking for some more challenge before going to a HoD job.

If anyone has any questions please ask- or contact me by e-mail.
