Must have downloads
« on: April 16, 2009, 07:05:11 PM »
Hi,

Having purchased a new laptop over the holidays I am looking to fill it up with amazing applications. Does anybody have any advice as to the best software developments, media players (currently use winamp), digital technology editors (looking at buying nero 9), web browsers or essential weblinks for my bookmarks etc...

Having gone from XP to vista I am a bit lost!

thanks in anticipation,

Steven

Opera.

Then I'd use the cloud techs which are developing pretty much I think.

A way to play Swiff files is essential - eg. http://www.globfx.com/products/swfplayer/

Can anyone recommend a programme to capture flash files? I had downloaded a free one but it has been wiped from my computer when it was recently cleaned. Thanks. ???

I use the flash saving plugin from UnH solutions - http://www.unhsolutions.net/Flash-Saving-Plugin/ - it's free and works a treat!

iSpring Free 3

Just spent odd bits of the day installing this little gem on all the machines in my lab. Nice piece - converts ppt's into flash movies so they can be embedded. Kids like it and it teaches a half decent web design idea quickly and easily.

Highly recommended - little technical ability required :-)
