General Discussion / Re: Geocaching

For £3.50 per student Danby Moors Centre in North York Moors does a half day geocaching. I am taking 45 year 7s next Friday. It is brilliant, through the grounds and woods, students love it - and as their staff are so good, so do I!!

General Discussion / This weeks floods
« on: September 26, 2012, 06:47:52 PM »
Our local news is doing a cracking job covering the floods and is having a massive discussion about floods, risk and management.

Because I am sad I am recording it. If anyone wants a copy of the DvD please email me with your addy.

Some of our students have spent the night at flood shelter as their homes are inundated. I am getting students to interview them this week for their case studies - poor kids though  :(

General Discussion / Re: KS4 Targets - how are yours set?
« on: September 18, 2012, 08:02:23 PM »
We currently are still waiting for targets. We are currently teaching Y7 to y10 blind. On a learning walk today my Faculty was criticised for lack of differentiation.... (insert thoughts here).

Our targets are ridiculous when they arrive mind! Will let you know how they are set when we finally find out ourselves  :o
