General Discussion / Innovative ICT Integration at your school?
« on: June 25, 2012, 08:21:24 AM »
I emigrated to Australia in February 2011 from a previous teaching life in Newcastle. As well as raising the profile of Geography in my current school, Masada College, I am leading on ICT integration and I've been given a great opportunity to visit schools in the UK during a trip I've planned in late September/early October.

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who is at a school or knows of schools who are innovative in their ICT integration across curriculum areas and would be willing to accept a visitor.

I'm flexible with travel but would like to centre my visit around London and North East/North West England.

Many thanks

P.S Happy to return the favour if anyone fancies a study tour in Sydney!

General Discussion / Article in TES - Geography & Climate Change

A little while back Alan Parkinson asked for volunteers to speak to a journalist about climate change in schools. I hadn't realised it was the same journalist that wrote this article about my school and others in the local area.

Can't recommend the Climate Change Schools project in the North East highly enough led by Dr Krista McKinzey @ Durham Science Learning Centre, which is mentioned in the article. http://www.slcne.org.uk/ccsp/

Interesting article about Tourism in the 2020s - particularly for those studying Tourism for GCSE AQA A.
